Under the agreement, clinical laboratory customers around the world continue to have access to the largest portfolio of coagulation instruments and tests. The companies will also continue joint product development activities ensuring customers have continued access to new coagulation technology.
The wide variety of coagulation instruments and tests covered in this agreement are used by clinical laboratories to test for blood disorders in patients or to monitor patients on blood-thinning medication. The agreement also includes access to automated platelet function testing, the two companies said.
Hisashi Ietsugu, president and CEO of Sysmex, said: “We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Siemens Healthcare. Our partnership combines the strengths of two diagnostic companies whose joint expertise offers best-in-class solutions for the laboratory, and we look forward to expanding the clinical utility of these solutions cooperatively.”
