Procter & Gamble gains new research tool

The Nervana System is a search and indexing tool that uses a proprietary, semantically intelligent search technology instead of basic keyword tools, and allows users to capture simultaneously the most relevant and timely information from across many different sources.

Nervana says the system is the world’s most scientifically advanced and intelligent search solution, providing fast, efficient and reliable semantic search and retrieval, and allowing users to ask questions naturally and contextually.

“We are utilizing the Nervana System to mine both internal and external information sources to help accelerate the advancement of our pharmaceutical programs,” said Dr Ray Takigiku, director of core technologies at Procter & Gamble. “The system allows us to access several information sources using the power of ontological queries to retrieve information more quickly and to locate information that we would normally not be able to identify with traditional search methodologies.”

The Nervana System indexes information according to defined ontologies and presents it to the user as relevant knowledge, all in one cohesive interface.
