The program, known as Shared Health Community Connection (SHCC), will create a patient-centered health record that will allow healthcare staff to view a patient’s personal medical information via a web site.
BlueCross plans to invest more than $25m in the project over the next three years, with future investments as needed.
“This is an opportunity to improve TennCare patients’ quality of care and provide clinical information to our provider community at the point of care,” said TennCare Bureau deputy commissioner, J. Hickey. “Raising that bar for the rest of the state is an exciting prospect we’re proud to be a part of.”
The SHCC will be offered to BlueCross’ TennCare members this summer, with plans to eventually extend to all Tennesseans.
