ZyGEM and Olympus Life Science sign collaboration agreement

The collaboration will combine ZyGEM’s advanced enzymatic nucleic acid extraction technology and Advalytix’s expertise in single-cell molecular tests for life science research and diagnostic applications, said ZyGEM.

Advalytix will market private-label DNA extraction products based on ZyGEM’s temperature-controlled extraction technology. The kits are designed to work with Advalytix’s single-cell molecular diagnostics and its miniaturized diagnostic and biological tests for R&D.

ZyGEM’s DNA extraction technology uses a proprietary thermophilic enzyme to extract DNA from samples using a single closed-tube system. ZyGEM said that its approach simplifies laboratory workflow, minimizes error, reduces the risk of contamination and ensures sample integrity, while also reducing costs.

Paul Kinnon, CEO of ZyGEM, said: “This new agreement for private-label DNA extraction products is the most recent in a series of ZyGEM collaborations with diverse partners to ensure wide availability of our versatile technology, and we look forward to a mutually productive relationship with Advalytix.”
