DatCard licenses image publishing patent to Dicom Solutions

DatCard’s patent is directed to systems that distribute and record digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) medical image data onto CDs or DVDs that can be read without specialized viewing software. This key technology is said to facilitate the worldwide sharing of critical medical information with health care providers and patients, enhancing the quality of patient care, while saving costs for health care providers.

DatCard includes its patented invention in its innovative PacsCube and SmartLine products. Under the license, DatCard will be providing PacsCube products to Dicom Solutions, and soon will be providing Dicom Solutions with customized products that use DatCard’s patented technology.

The license agreement is said to be part of a broader strategic alliance between DatCard and Dicom Solutions under which the two companies will be providing each other with strategic, marketing, and technical assistance.

Andrew Rosenzweig, vice president of sales & marketing for DatCard Systems, said: “The license agreement will provide significant revenue to DatCard. At the same time, the strategic partnership will provide each company with the benefit of the other’s significant marketing and technical skills.”
