Abacus Parenterals Drugs has opened a drug factory in Uganda with an aim to serve the targeted market.
Ramesh Babu, managing director of Abacus Parenterals Drugs, said: “The 20 million USA dollars (about 40 billion shillings) processing plant owned by will produce high quality drugs for Uganda and other African countries.
“New plant will save countries in Africa from spending money in transport costs from overseas in search for parenterals drugs.”
The factory will employ over 300 employees.
Abacus Parenterals Drugs, a subsidiary of Abacus Pharma (Africa), imports and distributes human drugs and varied pharmaceutical and surgical equipments. It is focused on drugs for severe stroke, trauma, dehydration, loss of blood, and vomiting. The factory also produces Water For Injection, eye and ear drops.
