Ajanta Pharma launches risperidone tablets

The company has introduced 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 2mg, 3mg and 4mg doses of the Risperidone Tablets, which are used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

According to IMS Health, sales of branded and generic products totalled about $147m for the 12 months ending March 2014.

The launch of Risperidone Tablets is part of an ever-growing portfolio of products that the company has developed for the US market.

Until now, two ANDAs have been approved with another 21 ANDAs pending US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval.
