Prior to Ancora Pharma, Siber worked as the vice president and chief scientific officer of Wyeth.
Prior to his work at Wyeth Vaccines Research, Siber was associate professor of medicine at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and former director of the Massachusetts Biological Laboratories.
Ancora Pharma Board of Directors chairman Karl White said that Siber has played a leading role in developing several vaccines that are widely used.
"We are fortunate to have his knowledge and experience to help accelerate the development of Ancora’s innovative vaccine programs, White said.
Ancora is a private biopharmaceutical company based in Medford, Massachusetts. Using its patented carbohydrate synthesis technology, it is developing several promising synthetic carbohydrate-based vaccines.
Ancora said that its carbohydrate synthesis platform enables the rapid production of synthetic carbohydrates to support vaccine discovery and optimisation, clinical trials and product commercialisation.
