John Brown is a PhD pharmacologist who has considerable management experience in the healthcare sector, most recently as chief executive officer of Acambis plc until 2004. Since that time he has been appointed to several boards in both the private and public sectors, and is currently chairman of BTG plc, The Roslin Foundation and CXR Biosciences, and a non-executive director of Vectura plc and OnyVax Ltd. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh.
