Mr Geisenheimer’s appointment follows the resignation of John Schulte as president and CEO and as a director of the company. Three additional employees have also left the company.
Mr Geisenheimer has served as a director of Spectranetics since April 1990 and was appointed chairman of the board in June 1996. Mr Geisenheimer has also served as acting president and CEO of the company from May 2002 through January 2003.
Mr Geisenheimer has received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in economics from the Louisiana State University.
