Mr Dugan joins Smith & Nephew from SonoSite, where he has served as the senior vice president of global marketing and US sales for the last three years.
Mr Dugan will be a member of the advanced wound management global executive team, reporting to Joe Woody.
Mr Woody, president of advanced wound management at Smith & Nephew, said: “Tom brings 27 years of medical device industry experience to this important role, head of our North American business.
“His broad range of marketing, sales, business development and operations experience will add considerable value to Smith & Nephew’s advanced wound management division during an exciting time for our business.”
