BASF to launch new production line at Mangalore manufacturing facility

The company anticipates the start-up of the new production line for the catalysts, which are vital for the efficient production of active pharmaceutical ingredients, in the second quarter of 2013.

BASF Catalysts division Process Catalysts and Technologies senior vice president Dr. Hans-Peter Neumann said, "This expansion will allow us to cost effectively increase our manufacturing footprint and production capacity, leveraging an existing BASF facility to enhance our proximity to customers in the Asia Pacific region."

The Mangalore site currently produces performance chemicals, dispersions and paper chemicals, automotive coatings, coil coatings and construction chemicals.
