BeamOne is planning to establish its new electron beam medical device sterilisation service center in the Pittsburgh, PA.
Reportedly the inauguration is expected to begin on the new facility in the fourth quarter of 2009, and will be operational during fourth quarter of 2010.
Glenn Thibault, president and CEO of BeamOne, said: “Our ability to add a fifth facility, following so closely after the January 2009 opening of our Costa Rica service center, emphasises that electron beam is the sterilisation modality choice of the future. The addition of our Pittsburgh center is one more stepping stone on BeamOne’s course of controlled expansion and growth.”
As claimed, the BeamOne’s technological has ability to efficiently process virtually any shipment size, as well as accommodate both large and small product configurations, provides medical product manufacturers with processing flexibility and faster time to market.
The Pittsburgh build plan includes the opportunity to add a second electron beam system, thus doubling the capacity of the service center to meet customer demand. The new center will provide sterilisation services for single-use medical device, pharmaceutical, and labware manufacturers and tissue processors.
