St Paul Pharmaceutical secures rights to distribute iron suppliment

St Paul’s agreement includes the distribution of Ferrazone in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos with a potential market of over 100 million people. Ferrazone is Akzo Nobel’s brand name for sodium iron (III) ethylenediaminetetraacetate (NaFeEDTA). It is an additive for food products including rice, coffee, tea and milk.

UNICEF estimates that iron deficiency affects half of the developing world’s infants, undermines the health of 500 million women of reproductive age and leads to more than 60,000 childbirth deaths a year. It also causes a range of other problems in millions of people, such as impaired cognitive development in children, exhausting fatigue, maternal mortality and low productivity in the workplace.

Recently St Paul Pharmaceutical has signed a letter of intent to merge with WENR Corp, a holding company that acquires technology and technology companies, provides senior management assistance for product and market development and secures working capital.
