India-based Cipla is currently in talks with Pfizer with an intention to form strategic alliance, reported NDTV. The strategic alliance will focus on the needs of Pfizer in emerging markets like India.
Reportedly, Pfizer will have access to Cipla’s manufacturing units, and the products will be supplied to developing nations.
The collaboration will focus on areas such as oncology, hormonal and respiratory. Reportedly, there are chances of Pfizer buying share of Cipla after the alliance, which may not happen in the near future.
Cipla said: “The company can’t talk specifics on the commercially sensitive information.”
However, Pfizer has not commented on the speculations.
