Cobalt Light Systems introduces RapID to identify pharmaceutical raw materials

RapID allows the pharmaceutical companies to QC the raw materials, which are then sent for manufacturing, without opening the packaging.

The new system is built on spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) that aids in measuring highly-specific Raman spectrum of active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients.

Quality check can be done by non-scientific personnel using a hand-held point and shoot measurement tool, according to Cobalt Light Systems.
