Alfresco Enterprise claimed that it has been chosen for its high quality document and records management solution offered at a competitive cost and its capacity to handle all the necessary documentation processes Kern Pharma requires.
Additionally, Alfresco Enterprise offers an improvement to the daily processes of the records management users, as well as higher quality software and at a more competitive price than the alternatives.
Alfresco said that its document management system enabled Kern Pharma and Indukern Group to create records in the eCTD (electronic Common Technical Document) format, a legal requirement of the Spanish authorities.
The deployment of Alfresco forms part of the Kern Pharma’s record creation process in the eCTD format, in accordance with a regulatory requirement and will be completed with the installation of an eCTD rendering system.
Alfresco Enterprise has also already been integrated with the existing corporate intranet, permitting access by all departments to information held on the system in a controlled and secure manner.
Albert Almajano Serra, director of information systems at Kern Pharma, said: “One of the most noteworthy advantages to using Alfresco Enterprise is having a document management tool, capable of absorbing all the document processes, not just in Kern Phrama but also in the Indukern Group.
“Kern Pharma has always been involved with quality open source projects and Alfresco Enterprise allows our users to benefit from all its features without customization so in this way the project cost is always contained. So far we are very satisfied with the results of using Alfresco Enterprise and are currently considering extending the tool usage to include additional document processes.”
