Mr Sweeney has been founder and CEO of eight healthcare service companies including Bridge Medical, a provider of bedside barcode scanning for medication administration, and CardioNet, a developer and marketer of mobile cardiac outpatient telemetry, a technology and service that allows physicians to continuously monitor cardiac activity as patients go about their normal daily activities.
Thomas Klopack, who led IntelliDOT for the past three years, will be leaving the company, working with Mr Sweeney and management during the transition period.
Dick Allen, director at IntelliDOT, said: “Jim has a remarkable track record. He has started eight product and service companies, took three companies public, raised billions of dollars in financing, and was responsible for some remarkable returns for investors. Most importantly, he has the vision to help IntelliDOT achieve its full potential. We are delighted to have him with us.”
