James S. Kuo, Cordex’s chief executive officer commented, “We are pleased to have completed our corporate name change and selected a new ticker symbol. The Cordex name was chosen for two primary reasons. First, ‘cor’ is the Latin word for heart, which is the focus of our drug development efforts. Second, Cordex is an intentional derivation of ‘codex’, the Latin word for book. Before printing presses, handwritten codices were the repository of all human knowledge. Through our two late-stage clinical programs, we intend to write a new chapter in the development of proprietary pharmaceuticals that treat urgent medical needs.”
In conjunction to the name change and new ticker symbol, Cordex announced several other corporate changes. The company has appointed MorisonCogen, LP of Bala Cynwyd, PA, as its independent auditors for the year ending December 31, 2008. Cordex also appointed DirectTransfer, LLC as its stock transfer agent, effective January 28, 2009.
