FDA warns on adverse effects of over-the-counter allergy medications for kids

According to the researchers though many medicines have one active ingredient, the combination of medicines may contain more than one active ingredient.

Due to the adverse effects of active ingredients, researchers have warned parents against administering a double dose to their kids.

Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital physician Dr. Brian Schroer was quoted by ABC2News as saying that when people buy an OTC medication, either a combination medicine or a single medicine; one should pay attention to the active ingredients.

"Not only are those the ingredients that will provide the benefit of the drug but it’s really part of the medicine that might lead to problems," Schroer added.
