Fresenius Kabi recalls US shipped anastrozole tablets

The German drugmaker is recalling 7,192 bottles, each bottle containing 30 1-mg tablets, which expire in May 2011, the Economic Times reported.

The German drugmaker informed the US Food and Drug Administration about the recall on 1 September.

Anastrozole tablets made at Fresensius Kabi Oncology’s plant in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh, India) was launched just three months ago. The tablets are sold in the US through Fresenius Kabi’s local unit APP Pharmaceuticals.

Fresenius Kabi had acquired Fresenius Kabi Oncology, formerly known as Dabur Pharma, from Burmans of Dabur Group in 2008.
