The authority is considering banning DMAA which has been linked to high blood pressure, vomiting and caused adverse health effects in Australia and overseas.
According to the New South Wales Food Authority, investigating the food supplement for the questionable substance, nearly 11 out of 12 supplements that the authority inspected had DMAA in it.
The products containing DMAA, which are pre-workout supplements, include Noxpump, 3-D explosion, Beta-Cret, PreSurge, 1 MR, Cyroshock, Jack3D, Mesomorph, Neurocore, Oxyelite powder, and Hemo Rage Black, according to FSANZ.
