Insulin pens are medical plastic systems that enable diabetes sufferers to administer their regular insulin doses themselves in a pain-free procedure.
Sanofi will perform the final assembly of the insulin pen at its facility in Frankfurt, Germany.
Gerresheimer Management Board member Andreas Schütte said that the company covers the value chain for medical plastic systems, from product design to pharmaceutical assembly.
"The new Sanofi production order confirms our expertise and flexibility in the fast implementation of complex, collaborative customer projects," Schütte added.
Gerresheimer is already manufacturing a reusable pen for Sanofi at its Pfreimd plant in Germany.
