J&J calls back paediatric drugs Benadryl tablets, Motrin

Bloomberg has quoted J&J spokesperson Bonnie Jacobs as saying that when the manufacturing process was developed, it was not done as thoroughly as it should have been.

"There is no indication that the product does not meet quality standards. This month’s recall of Benadryl and Motrin has nothing to do with the subjects of the other recalls," Jacobs said

"Consumers can continue to use the product, they don’t have to take any action and the medicine is being withdrawn from wholesale and retail locations"

Earlier in April, J&J’s McNeil unit has terminated the production in manufacturing plant and also withdrew 40 types of over-the -counter childen’s liquid medicines, reported Bloomberg.

The company is distributing the children’s Benadryl tablets in Canada, Puerto Rico, US, St. Martin and St. Thomas, Barbados and Belize.
