The decision comes a year after Marubeni transferred sales and marketing of F310 Polyvinylidene Chloride (PVDC) product to Viachem from Univar’s ChemPoint business unit.
Marubeni claimed that its vinyl resins, available in both powders and solutions, are used in coatings due to their low moisture-vapor transmission rate, low order of water absorption, toughness, durability and heat seal qualities.
Marubeni senior sales and marketing manager Mark Mooney said that they expect Viachem to once again excel in representing Marubeni to those customers who have not reached in the past through direct sales efforts.
Viachem business development vice president Kyle Einhorn said that the company is the leader in helping international producers of specialty and fine chemicals expand market share in North America with hard-to-reach customers.
“Our professional technical sales team already has a solid working relationship with Marubeni and with users of PVDC resin. Those relationships will complement our efforts to increase sales for the vinyl resin product line,” Einhorn said.
