MCC of South Africa selects Extedo solution for ERES project

The Extedo solution will validate, import, and review electronic submission information sent by pharmaceutical companies on electronic media such as CDs or DVDs.

Extedo CEO Tore Bergsteiner said currently the drug approval process in African countries can take as long as three years.

"The delays deny timely access of essential medicines to the sick. South Africa is committed to dramatically reduce registration times," Bergsteiner added.

"It will be the first African country to start a time-effective reviewing process and accept electronic submissions instead of paper-based submissions. We are looking forward to working with the MCC to bring medicines to the South African people faster."

The European Medicines Agency and many other European regulatory authorities have deployed the selected solution.

Extedo is the software and service solutions provider in the field of Regulatory Information Management.
