Menicon enters into agreement with Optimed

Earlier this year, Menicon obtained exclusive distribution rights for Optimed’s products in Japan and Taiwan.

Optimed said that CAPTIV8 is a web-based 3D animation software that can be used by the eye-care practitioner chair-side to enhance communication with patients.

The technology further enables patients to view the content on their computers, mobile devices and share it with family and friends.

Optimed claims that i-Vue is a digital display system, normally located in the practice waiting room, that uses 3D animation to educate and inform patients about products and services and also allows users to easily and quickly modify playback content from any remote location, making it a convenient and ideal solution for multiple location practices.

Menicon Global Business Strategies & Operations general manager Jonathan Jacobson said that CAPTIV8 and i-Vue provide the eye-care practitioners with dynamic communication tools to explain complex information about eye health to patients.

"It uses the power of the internet and computer graphics to deliver meaningful content to consumers wanting to know more about their own eye health," Jacobson said.
