The Dietary Supplement Label Database provides the information related to the supplement facts panel that lists the dietary supplements’ contents and other added ingredients such as fillers, binders, and flavorings.
Besides, it provides customers with directions for use, health-related claims, and any cautions from the label of the supplements.
The features of the platform include quick search, search for dietary ingredients, and search for specific products; browse contact information, advanced search.
National Library of Medicine (NLM) Specialized Information Services division director Dr. Steven Phillips said, "The Dietary Supplement Label Database will be updated regularly to incorporate most of the more than 55,000 dietary supplement products in the U.S. marketplace."
The database is the result of partnership of NIH Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) and NLM, with inputs from the federal stakeholders who participate in a federal working group on dietary supplements.
