Particle Sciences Enters Into Agreement With Horiba Scientific

Particle Sciences (PSI) has entered into an agreement with Horiba Scientific. As per the agreement, Particle Sciences is expected to acquire Horiba Raman/Particle Characterisation System with guaranteed hardware and software upgrades as and when they become available.

The multimodal imaging system is an apparatus that combines the chemical selectivity of Raman spectroscopy with particle size and morphology characterisation from Clemex Technologies. Reportedly, the two companies is also expected to also work together on application and method development..

Robert Lee, VP of pharmaceutical development at PSI, said: “Particle Sciences works extensively with combination products and other formulation systems where precise location of the API and its particle size are of critical importance. This new device will enable us to approach this question with a robust and validatable system. Since this is an important area for us, we are very happy to get the system in house at this early stage.”
