PaxVax installs G-CON POD technology at San Diego vaccine production facility

POD that facilitates a cleanroom space of 768ft² in addition to a partial ceiling height of 15′ is designed to preserve relative humidity at 35% in a controlled non-classified environment.

PaxVax chief operating officer Nima Farzan said G-CON understood the facility’s requirement for the installation of the safe-contained, flexible and scalable technology in a short timeframe.

"Their deep experience with design, construction and operation of the POD was evident when they completed the install within hours," Farzan added.

The licensed GMP production facility will be used for the manufacturing of single dose oral cholera vaccine, which is yet to enter Phase 3 trials, for clinical and commercial purpose.

G-CON manufacturing president Barry Holtz said, "By working closely with Nima and his team, we successfully moved from a conceptual design that had never been built before to installation of the 24 foot by 42 foot POD in a matter of 16 weeks."
