The solution will be used for the employed physicians of the Peninsula Regional Medical Group comprised of family medicine and specialty practices in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia, and will promote its adoption by affiliated community physicians within the region.
The Medical Center also selected eClinicalWorks Electronic Health eXchange (eEHX) to serve as an integral component of an existing strategy to establish a health records system that allows for access across the practices and the acute care system.
Peninsula Regional will utilize eClinicalWorks EMR to streamline clinical processes between employed practice locations and will work with affiliated physicians to adopt as their practice EMR. eEHX will serve as a hub in conjunction with the Medical Center’s existing information exchange providing physicians with improved access to patients’ health information and allowing them to exchange data effectively.
Ray Adkins, chief information officer of Peninsula Regional Medical Center, said: “eClinicalWorks will provide our physicians with a comprehensive management and reporting system supporting pay-for-performance initiatives and the ability to more effectively manage the care provided to patient populations.”
Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks, said: “By selecting eClinicalWorks, Peninsula Regional Medical Center will be offering its providers a standards-based electronic medical records system with a proven track record in employed and affiliated practice settings that will aid in treatment outcomes and provide operational efficiencies.”
