Perrigo will now sell and distribute certain products in the current AgaMatrix portfolio in addition to certain future new products.
It will use its existing store brand retail channels to expand distribution of the new blood glucose meters and testing strips to consumers in early 2011, and also explore a complete range of diabetes care products which goes beyond blood glucose monitoring.
Perrigo chairman and CEO Joseph Papa said the strong demand for high quality and value in the growing diabetic community makes the deal with AgaMatrix one with industry-leading quality and technology.
Perrigo develops, manufactures and distributes OTC and generic prescription pharmaceuticals, infant formulas, nutritional products, API and pharmaceutical and medical diagnostic products.
AgaMatrix is a privately held company involved in delivering innovative solutions for diabetes treatment.
