The company intends to open the 330,000 sq² facility in 2011 with a plan to employ approximately 280 employees in the first year of operation and based on future growth expects to add employees in the coming years.
Initially, Pharmavite and its partner expect to invest around $74m.
Pharmavite chief operating officer Mark Walsh said their new Opelika facility will allow them to have manufacturing capacity near the East coast markets, which make up a significant portion of their business.
