Rite Aid selects CaptureRx to offer 340B contract pharmacy services

The 340B drug discount program is a Federal Public Health Service Program that allows qualified health centers and hospitals to buy drugs for less than half the cost of the commercial market for their out patients.

Rite Aid has identified pilot sites and is presently developing a strategy to offer the 340B program nationwide later in 2012.

CaptureRx will also provide Rite Aid with support on 340B-related government policy and industry relations through its Government and Industry Division led by former US Rep Billy Tauzin.

Rite Aid currently operates more than 4,700 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia.

Founded in 1999, CaptureRx, which operates 340B contracted pharmacy network, serves safety-net clinics, hospitals and pharmacies.
