The US Department of Defense has banned a supplement ingredient known as 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA) throughout the military in December 2011, following the deaths of two soldiers and other severe health problems among service members.
DMAA is expected to narrow the blood vessels and arteries, causing high blood pressure, which has led to cardiovascular problems.
