Roche to integrate Elsevier Reaxys workflow solution

The integrated chemistry data will run on Roche’s infrastructure and inside the Roche firewall to provide high performance and security.

With the integration, Roche researchers’ will be able to launch a single search in Reaxys across integrated internal data and experimental data published in journals and patents, with results unified and organized in a context directly relevant to the researcher workflow.

Roche scientific information management global head Sven-Olaf Vogt said the company has been seeking to improve the discoverability of its in-house proprietary content, while at the same time avoiding investing in and maintaining an entirely new internally or externally developed system.

"Working with the Reaxys team was a logical choice given the widespread adoption of Reaxys at Roche and the knowledge of the Reaxys team in chemistry content," Vogt added.

Elsevier pharma and biotech group managing director Mark van Mierle said researchers want seamless, unified data streams, delivered through highly intuitive workflow tools.

"Our work with Roche responds directly to those needs and enables researchers to innovate more effectively by accessing data they need, through a world-leading interface," Mierle added.
