The US Patent No 7,865,534, titled ‘System, Method and Apparatus for Assembling and Mining Life Science Data,’ describes an in silico-based data storage system that allows scientists to systematically capture, store and update computer-operable biological representations based on life science ontologies.
The system uses machine-readable symbolic representations that are constraint-based to ensure that the encoded complex life science knowledge is semantically rigorous.
Selventa president and CEO said the patent is recognition of Selventa’s competitive IP position and it validates to their partners a key technological tool for their development programs.
