Shin-Etsu Completes Takeover Bid For CIRES

Shin-Etsu Chemical has completed the procedures required to make its affiliate CIRES a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shin-Etsu.

Earlier in December 10, 2008, Shin-Etsu announced its plan to make CIRES a wholly-owned Shin-Etsu subsidiary. Shin-Etsu has been moving forward in completing the necessary procedures through Shin-Etsu International Europe (SEIE), a Shin-Etsu Group business base in Europe.

CIRES together with Shin-Etsu PVC in the Netherlands, will further strengthen Shin-Etsu’s PVC business in Europe. CIRES is said to strengthen Shin-Etsu’s profitability by endeavoring to improve its manufacturing technologies and enhance its sales power.

Shin-Etsu Chemical is a Tokyo-based chemical company that supplies semiconductor materials, semiconductor silicon and related products.
