Siegfried to build new production plant in China

The new plant, supported by NETDA, a Chinese development organization, will include production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates in its initial phase.

The company is expecting to start production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates in 2014.

In the second phase, the company will include the production of finished dosage forms.

Siegfried CEO Rudolf Hanko said the development of production capacity in China will strengthen the company’s competitiveness over the long term.

"The production facility will help us improve both our cost structure and our market access in Asia," Hanko added.

"The geographical diversification of our production plants will make us an even more attractive partner for our customers."
