SXC Health Solutions, a provider of pharmacy benefit management services and healthcare information technology solutions, has implemented the Sterling Business Integration Suite from Sterling Commerce, to create a center of data exchange for its interaction with all aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Sterling Commerce said that the suite has enabled SXC to optimize its file and data management operations, enhance internal communications, and improve its ability to comply with current and future Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines.
Sterling Commerce also said that the suite enables SXC to improve operational efficiency by automating its business processes for exchanging and completing transactions among its customers and partners. SXC has implemented the following components of the suite: Connect:Direct; Sterling Integrator; and Sterling Secure Proxy.
Jon Hyosaka, chief information officer of SXC Health Solutions, said: In 2007, we identified file movement as one of our top five challenges, and put a strategic plan in place by partnering with Sterling Commerce to solve that challenge. As we become a leader in the pharmacy benefits management space, we recognize the need to enhance our data exchange process and ensure the highest level of security, reliability, and most importantly, manageability.
