Bioservative is used to preserve microbiological samples for up to seven days and also delays the breakdown of DNA, RNA and peptides for up to 26 days.
Bioservative which stores bacterial cells are held in a suspended metabolic activity, stopping continued growth and allow it to analyze the bacterial content.
The matrix also facilitates in stabilizing the sample pH, preventing cell death and pH hydrolysis of biological molecules.
Thermo Fisher said the Bioservative storage matrix offers the support necessary for incresing the efficacy of downstream analysis and generating data from the available material.
