The company currently handles the distribution, warehousing and transportation of Merck’s medicines and vaccines in North America, in addition to providing transportation services in Europe.
UPS is setting up distribution centers in China and Brazil to support Merck’s manufacturing and packaging facilities and accelerate delivery of the company’s products.
Merck Manufacturing Division executive vice president and president Willie Deese said the expanded agreement allows them to focus on core business that looks for innovative ways to bring medicines and vaccines to patients in emerging markets and markets around the world.
