Zentiva, a Czech pharmaceutical company, will start manufacturing generic version of Pfizer’s Viagra. The production will begin in 2010.
The company will engage manufacturing site at Slovak town of Hlohovec to manufacture the drug, said a local news portal.
The new drug will be ready for commercialisation in 2010.
The company will be prices at a 30% lower rates than the original Pfizer Drug. Zentiva, also stated that thought the prices will be low, the drug will be as effective as the original and it will be based on ‘sildenafil’.
Furthermore, in the near past many companies have attempted to launch sildenafil, like Actavis launched the drug in Bulgaria in June 2009.
Zentiva is a pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets branded generic pharmaceutical products. The company caters to the markets in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Turkey and is developing its business in Poland, Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Ukraine and the Baltic States.
