Biotec Invest in Ultra Low Temperature Storage

The 300% increase in ultra low temperature storage space will enable Biotec Services International to meet the needs of its clients who use its import, QP certification, labelling, assembly storage and worldwide distribution services for investigational medicinal products (IMPs).

Now able to store supplies for a longer duration, the company will utilise the new storage space when handling clinical supplies for Phase I-IV trials through to commercial supply. The increased ultra low temperature storage abilities will allow for the storage of material that has not yet been designated for use in trials, testing or for commercial use, but requires long term storage in GMP compliant conditions.

Rachel Griffiths, operations director for Biotec Services International, said: "This is an important move for the company, as it allows us to meet the growing demands of manufacturers all over the world".

Licensed to handle IMPs, commercial materials and named patient supplies, Biotec Services International will be able to collect materials directly from manufacturers and continue to provide a service by storing material and later dispatching to testing sites.
Rachel continues: "By increasing our storage and distribution services on such a large scale, we are providing clients with greater flexibility and are offering them a complete and efficient service. Clients can relax safe in the knowledge that their drugs are being handled by cold chain experts from manufacture to patient delivery".

The move comes as the company looks to expand its offerings to meet the needs of a number of blue chip international pharmaceutical and healthcare clients.
