Distinguished Worldwide DART Expert Collaborates with MPI Research

Dr Hendrickx is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Davis (UCD). He carried out basic and applied research in a number of nonhuman primate species during his 33-year tenure at the California Regional Primate Research Center where he served as director for 13 years. He was also a research professor with the Center for Health and the Environment at UCD. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Hendrickx has held leadership positions with eminent institutions worldwide, including the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International, The Royal Society of Canada Panel on Nonhuman Primate Colonies, The World Health Organization, The National Institutes of Health, multiple scientific advisory boards, and various renowned academic institutions. As past president of the American Society of Primatologists and of the Teratology Society, his many professional memberships span decades. He has been active in a variety of US and international legislative efforts as well. Dr Hendrickx received his PhD in zoology from Kansas State University.

With over 300 publications to his credit, Dr Hendrickx has served in an editorial and scientific review capacity for a wide array of textbooks and scientific journals. Holding a position of global prominence in his field, Dr Hendrickx is considered to be the “father of nonhuman primate DART research.”
