The Shandon Coverplate is a plastic device that fits over
a standard microscope slide and forms a well at the end of the slide. Up to ten slides with coverplates are fitted into each rack.

Duolink II reagents are pipetted directly into the well of the coverplate. The liquid stays in the gap between the coverplate and slide until the next reagent or buffer is dispensed into the well. This eliminates handling of slides between steps, protects the slides from drying, and improves staining quality.
