Rescentris Receives Funding for Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) Software Growth

Investments were led by new and existing private investors, including leading scientists and inventors from Stanford University, former senior executives from Apple Computer and a major pharmaceutical company. Rescentris was also awarded $1 million from Innovation Ohio Loan, as part of a State initiative to encourage Ohio businesses to create cutting-edge, innovative technologies.

This funding will support corporate growth, extension of industry-leading semantic data management technologies, release of the CERF Enterprise Edition and other new product offerings including distributed data management and archiving. Rescentris’ latest CERF release (3.5) was awarded Best of Show for knowledge management, ELN or LIMS at the 2009 Boston, Mass. Bio-IT World Trade Show. This is the second time that CERF (Collaborative Electronic Research Framework™) has received this prestigious award.

“The new funding, as well as the latest awards, demonstrate the confidence that our investors, the State of Ohio, and the global R&D community has in our team, the CERF technology, and growing ELN market opportunities”, stated Rescentris president Dr Jeff Spitzner. “Growing numbers of life sciences – and increasingly other R&D organizations as well – are seeing our CERF platform as an insurance policy to protect their substantial investments in R&D and maximize returns.”

CERF has been installed at over 60 sites globally, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and other R&D companies, as well as academic, clinical, government, and nonprofit research labs and institutions to support scientists, lab data management, patents and regulatory compliance across the lifecycle of R&D. Ongoing product development and business growth will allow CERF to maintain its reputation as a state-of-the-art, cross-platform Electronic Lab Notebook, known for its flexibility, ease of use and adoption, its ability to catalyze productive collaborations, and its advanced vision for the future of lab- and bio-informatics.
