Rotronic Humidity Measurements in Hydrogen Peroxide

There is no toxic residue or product contamination. Humidity monitoring and control throughout each phase of the sterilisation phase is crucial. The majority of sensors on the market do not survive for long and measurement drift is significant over the short term. Rotronic has developed a sensor which is chemically resistant with a longer life.

A chemically resistant sensor for use in rough hydrogen peroxide environments (also suitable where ammonia is present e.g. animal welfare rooms) has been developed with longer life and evaluated commercially. The measurement range is very wide -80…120 °C, 0…100 %rh with high thermal stability and good response time.

The sensor element can be supplied integrated on the ‘standard’ Rotronic HC2-S temperature and humidity probe for use with handhelds, data loggers including secure wireless systems, measurement transmitters with digital/analogue outputs and configured for customers’ OEM systems.

Rotronic has prepared an informative technical Application Note about the use of resistant sensors for humidity measurements in hydrogen peroxide chambers.
