Ivera Medical, a medical device company, has received the FDA 510(k) clearance to begin marketing its Curos Port Protector, a medical device that decontaminates needleless intravenous access ports, and helps to prevent touch and airborne contamination.

According to the company, the Curos Port Protector is designed to reduce patient exposure to the risks of hospital acquired bloodstream infections and help maintain hospital infection control protocols.
