Cerner to provide healthcare IT in Abu Dhabi

Kansas City, Missouri-based Cerner is providing healthcare IT services to the General Authority for Health Services in Abu Dhabi.

Under the agreement, Cerner will provide its Millennium software suite as part of a project to develop a fully operational electronic medical record (EMR) system, with the first phase including Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Tawam Hospital, Al Rahba Hospital and Mafraq Hospital.

“Abu Dhabi is focused on developing healthcare services that result in improved health outcomes,” said Mohammad Butti Al-Qubaisi, general manager, General Authority for Health Services. “By pushing data to our clinicians where they need it most – at the point of care – Cerner’s proven technology will help us enhance the quality of care we provide.”
